Discovering Kingston’s Neighbourhoods: A Series (Demo)

Over the next few weeks we will be taking a look at the various neighbourhoods that make up Kingston’s diverse housing market. According to the city of Kingston, there are 43 distinct neighbourhoods. Most of these neighbourhoods include five to seven neighbouring blocks with populations of 400 to 700 per block. These blocks are grouped together as a neighbourhood based on criteria including shared social, physical and political attributes, as well as location.

The goal is to provide some useful background information while searching for homes in various areas and learn a little more about the city along the way.

The series aims to shed some light on the different neighbourhoods and take a look at their geographical boundaries, a brief history, various demographics and housing types, as well as some notable surroundings.
